My NEWA device is not working. What should I do?Updated 17 days ago

The NEWA device can be a little tricky to master, so please run through the troubleshooting tips below to make sure you are using the device correctly.

First, we strongly encourage you to browse these videos from Dr. Rajani on how to use the device.

We recommend that you charge the unit fully overnight between each set of treatments. Please be sure you have done that. Once charged, the light should change from half orange/half green to solid green.

Be sure the button (located on the side of the device) is set to the off (0 position) before starting a treatment. Then change it to your desired setting by moving the side button position to 1 or 2 (1 is low heat, 2 is high heat). 2 is the preferred position. The light in the center of the unit should now be solid blue.

Press the center button in the middle of the device to start treatment. The light should start flashing blue, indicating it is ready for a treatment.

During treatment the light on the device will turn to green when it reaches the optimum heat level, but it is normal that it alternates between blue and green during treatment.

Some additional troubleshooting tips:

  • Be sure to clean the metal bars after every set of treatments. If there is buildup on those bars, the device will not heat properly.

  • Try treating a smaller area during the treatment. Smaller, faster circles will get it to heat up and get it to green quicker.

  • It can take up to a minute and a half for the device to heat completely and turn to green.

  • Warm skin may allow the device to heat up more quickly. Taking a warm shower first always helps, ensuring your skin is warm and clean.

  • It is crucial to use the right amount of gel, enough to cover the metal bars, but not too much that it doesn't heat properly. Dr Rajani typically only uses 1 semi-thick line of the gel.

  • Keep in mind the angle. Many people angle it incorrectly. The device may not heat up correctly if the electrodes do not touch.

  • Thicker skin can take longer to heat.

  • The metal bars on the device need to stay touching at all times. Be sure you are not lifting the unit when you are doing a treatment.

  • Watch all videos again and practice the technique in front of a mirror when you are first starting out.
